White 2007 - Silver pale, quite fresh Sauvignon Blanc, has flesh from lees stirring and lovely fruit over nice Granny Smith acidity, very good length and balance. (Plus it lasted well for five days in the fridge once opened).
2005 Maison. - Good deep colour, good fresh crunchy berry fruit, very good balance Cabernet-Merlot, perhaps Cabernet dominant due to tannins (good) and shows the best of both varietals with clean and clear vineyard fruit, a lovely expression of red Bordeaux, easy but interesting.
2005 Marpeau. - Very good colour, fuller than Maison, fleshier and more “gras”, more extracted and more earthy, oak is there but doesn’t get in the way, less immediate than Maison, more complex, but Maison is more fun.

I didn’t give them marks, but were I judging them in an AOC competition, they would be of Medal standard without question.

Overall, I loved the cheerful yet genuine style, ripe grapes and intelligent winemaking.

Hi....just had my main course dinner.......Gigot of lamb - grilled- with courgettes fried in olive oil then finished with aged balsamic, tomatoes and mint and boulangere potatoes......matched with the '2005 Maison' ....bloody brilliant!!! The key is to bring out the sweetness of the courgettes by frying and then a good sweet aged balsamic. Try it out...works well. Will also work well with roast duck served with blackcurrants. Cheers, Bruce.

Hi there ....just a wee note......

did a tasting myself on the 2006 rose.....very nice with a room temperature salad of tomato and basil, quite nice paired with a simple bowl of redcurrants with a little caster sugar but the winner is raspberries - it was made to go with the raspberries i just picked out of my garden....just stunning!!!! i wish you could have tasted it!!!!!

An excellent selection of wines but we particularly enjoyed the Maison Rouge 2005 - a well balanced, full bodied, very drinkable wine which is fruity without being sweet. Best decanted (always a good sign). Just ordered some more!
